Famous in the Czech Republic but probably the world’s most undiscovered star fantasy painter and sculptor of this and the last century.
Mr. Nakamura Hideki, Professor of Nagoya College of Plastic Arts, Japan, said: “The Endless Picture by Antonin Stiburek … is a congestion of grotesque human forms drawn in a “maniac” technique. Nevertheless, this is not merely a hell scene or a pessimistic depiction of mankind, but has the nuance that this is the real picture of human history, which should be firmly viewed before setting off. Whatever the implications, I believe it is our important future task to analyse and theorise such works in order to reorganise the principles of painting and to recover its social function.” (quoted from the catalogue of Antonin Stibureks Endless Picture)
